General Terms and Conditions
With your registration you accept the general terms and conditions of Hallo Deutschschule. Course registrations for a German course are only accepted in writing. The registration is legally valid and obligates you to pay for the booked German course. If, in the case of 6-month subscriptions, the full price is not paid at once, a payment agreement must be signed, which is binding. If subscriptions are paid monthly in installments, the deposit will only be deducted from the course price in the last month and cannot be reclaimed before that date under any circumstances. Places on the following courses can only be guaranteed if students register in writing by the end of the third week (intensive), until the end of the fifth week of the course (semi-intensive) or by the end of the twelfth week (Saturday) before the start of the course (this also applies to students with a 3-month or 6-month subscription). Please note that due to the current reduced room capacity, your timely registration may be cancelled in exceptional cases, provided that all internal students register in time for the follow-up course. The course is VAT-free.
Up to 5 calendar days before the start of the course, the participant may cancel the booked German course in writing without additional costs. If the cancellation is too late, the participant must pay the full course fees. The Hallo German School is happy to issue a voucher for paid but not attended course weeks, provided that the absence was registered at least 5 days before the beginning of the absence. In case of interruption during the German course the participant has no right to a refund, but Hallo German School is also prepared to issue a voucher, provided that the interruption was registered in writing with the secretary’s office at least 5 days before the beginning of the interruption and is not longer than 1 week (intensive), 2 weeks (semi-intensive) or 3 weeks (Saturday). For new clients, Hallo Deutschschule does NOT issue credit notes during the time of the very first course. For Saturday courses a minimum absence of two consecutive Saturdays must be registered. If the student is unable to attend the German course due to illness, the participant will receive a voucher for the German lessons not attended as a result, upon presentation of a medical certificate. This voucher is not transferable to other persons. Vouchers or credit notes will not be paid out in cash. For individual course days not attended, no voucher will be issued under any circumstances, except on presentation of a medical certificate. Vouchers can be collected from the secretary’s office and can only be used when registering for entire courses (with a full course duration). Vouchers cannot be used for private lessons, course material or similar. If participants cannot participate due to medical, private or professional problems or changes that were already known or foreseeable at the time of registration, Hallo Deutschschule can insist on payment of the entire course price without issuing a credit note (customers are responsible for any personal planning uncertainty, e.g. with previous illness, pregnancy, the prospect of a job offer, visa, etc.).
Certificates and confirmations
Upon successful completion of a language level, every course participant receives a certificate from Hallo Deutschschule on request. At Completion of a partial level or in case of insufficient performance, a course confirmation will be issued on request.
Cancellation of course by school/ Impossibility to carry out
If there are too few registrations for a course, Hallo Deutschschule can cancel the course. In this case the participant will be refunded the amount paid. If a planned course cannot take place due to a short-term emergency (e.g. illness of the course leader) and therefore a cancellation for which the school is responsible, the liability for course participants who have arrived in vain is limited to a maximum compensation of CHF 50 per person. In cases of force majeure (strike, catastrophes, epidemics, pandemics, etc.) the course fee will not be refunded. The course will be continued or a credit note issued after the cancellation caused by force majeure, if it can be proven with documents that the continuation of the course is no longer possible after the interruption.
The prices listed on the Internet and in the course programme are binding. The course material is not included in the course price. If C2 courses take place in classes, the price per partial level is CHF 600 and no credits are issued for interruptions. Several discounts cannot be cumulated.
After receipt of your registration you will receive an invoice from Hallo Deutschschule. This must be paid before the start of the German course. The course documents are not included in the course price and can be obtained at the reception and must be paid there.
Payment in instalments
Payment by instalments is only accepted for 6-month subscriptions. However, a deposit in the amount of the total price reduction (CHF 300.-) and an administrative fee of CHF 30.- must be paid with the first instalment.
Each participant may repeat a German course as desired. The participant only has to pay 50% of the course fee if he/she has already attended the whole course (entire course time) at Hallo Deutschschule within the last 4 months and registers for a whole course duration (no holidays or interruptions can be registered during a repetition course). A repetition during an ongoing 6-month or 3-month subscription is possible, but the 6-month or 3-month subscription will be interrupted and continued after the repetition course has ended. In case of a repetition during a current 6-month or 3-month subscription, 50% of the non-reduced, normal course price must be paid. Participants who attend two intensive courses at the same time do not receive a discount in case of a repetition course, as they already benefit from the standard 50% discount on the second intensive course.
